Steel Shoes is an electro-acoustic installation/instrument which uses the natural qualities of high carbon steel and concrete to generate ambient progressions and resonance.
None Steel Shoes is an electro-acoustic instrument which uses the natural qualities of high carbon steel and concrete to generate ambient progressions and resonance.It uses 15ft. sections of stainless wound cable with stepper motors which pre-load and pause allowing each "Shoe" to come in contact with the floor and excite the beam. As the stepper coils the cable becomes slightly shorter and the shoe is lifted from the floor creating a sustained effect and then to silence till it unwinds again.
